I mentioned recently that Lush released a new range of makeup called Emotional Brilliance. In addition to the range of brightly coloured eyeliners, shadows and lipsticks they also introduced a new mascara and face powder. I will cover the eyeliner I bought soon but today I’m going to focus on the face powder.
It’s a translucent soft pink powder that’s extremely fine and very light. I was advised that you can apply it with your fingers but I would recommend using a powder or kabuki brush for even coverage. It spreads really easily and even when you think you’re using too much, it doesn’t look like it. I personally use it as a setting powder which gives my skin a nice, soft, matte finish and it works really well for the most part.
Though I really do like this product and think that it does what it says on the tin, it’s not without fault. Firstly, it comes in a little jar similar to the lip scrub jars. This makes it really difficult to dispense product without either wasting any or adding too much to your brush. I know I’ve said that you can’t really use too much but I would like the option of a very subtle application.
The second problem I’ve found is that when it’s a cooler day, it does set my makeup perfectly, when it’s a bit warmer and I’m a wee bit glowing (to be polite) it makes my makeup come off a lot quicker and even forms little clumps in problem areas e.g. around my glasses.
This is a really nice product but if you are thinking about purchasing it, I would consider popping to Muji and purchasing a larger jar to make application easier.
The powder is £12 which can be considered as expensive due to the size of the product (I’ve already used well over a quarter in about a month) and that you will probably have to buy an additional container but as it is all natural, animal friendly and given the texture, I think it’s worth it.

I really like this powder, agree the jar is a bit awkward to use but it gives a beautiful finish on the skin:)
