A few weeks ago I told you that I was trying to achieve the perfect pink pout. I’ve come to learn that there are many different forms of the pink pout and that I really quite like them all. Over the past month or so, I have bought many pink lip products, from the bright, shocking pink so the barely noticeable tint. Today, I’m going to share something I thought I’d never try but I’m pretty pleased I did.
I never thought I’d try 17. I said this a few months ago and each time I see myself picking up a product and taking it to the till I am filled with doubt and prepare myself for disappointment. Recently, I have been nothing but happy with my purchases to the point of screaming recommendations at people. Today’s product is the Supreme Shine Lipstick in Pink Posey.
It comes in a really reflective, minimal silver bullet in a very unusual shape. It bloats in the middle and tapers to an oval on the cap. It’s quite an attractive bullet but it does get mucky quite easily. The bottom half of the bullet is quite chunky but a fairly usual shape and the twist motion is very fluid with a bit of resistance so you won’t accidentally over twist and potentially snap the lipstick.
I chose Pink Posey because I wanted a bright pink with a bit of a purple tint (you know me and purple lip colour) and this was pretty much exactly what I was looking for. It has a pretty high pigmentation but the glossy finish makes it a little sheerer than I was expecting. You can definitely build up the colour but it’s a nice way of getting a shot of colour without going OTT.
The glossy finish also makes it glide on really easily. There’s no drag and it applies pretty evenly but just like the L’Oreal Caresse, if you smoosh your lips, you will notice some motion marks.
It’s not the longest lasting lipstick. I have had to reapply every couple of hours to keep the colour vivid but due to the reapplication, it keeps the lips pretty hydrated.
I actually really love the colour. It’s really feminine and it’s bright enough to draw attention but it doesn’t make you seem like you’re trying too hard. Like all pink lipstick, it can make your teeth look a little yellow but you’d expect that with anything pink especially if it has a blue undertone. I was actually expecting this to be a very bold colour but it’s a lot more subtle than my initial swatch in store and it’s actually a lot more wearable than I thought. It’s definitely a colour I would happily wear on a daily basis.
This lipstick retails for £4.99 from Boots and for that price, you can’t really argue. It’s a great colour, a great texture and so what if you have to reapply every couple of hours? I know I don’t.
