Today is the day. Yes, you guessed it, magazine day. July’s glossy magazines have a whole host of amazing “freebies” that is driving even the biggest glossy haters to the local newsagent. Who can really say no to a high end product for £3.80? Or travel sized products for £2? I certainly can’t. So today I ventured out to a couple shops and bought an armful of some of the most sought after literature out there.
Here are the magazines and goodies I’ve procured (so far):
Glamour magazine (£2 each copy)
With Benefit’s: Porefessional (one of my favourites), That Gal and Bad Gal Lash (travel sized)
InStyle (£3.80)
With Body Shop’s Eye Definers in Black and French Navy (full size)
Marie Claire (£3.70)
With Ciaté’s Jelly Bean nail polish (full size) – which will go really nicely with L’Oreal’s Caresse in Impulsive Fuchsia
Red (£3.90)
With Jemma Kidd Black Eyeliner (full size)
I know it seems crazy that I just spent over £20 on magazines and bought three of the same but look at the value for money. I have at least £45 worth of products – some are favourites, some are new to me.
I’m not against glossy magazines, I see them as entertainment rather than advise or social suppressors but that’s another topic for another time. I am slightly against the fact that there is a choice of products and thus sale numbers are inflated and inaccurate – placing value on the materialistic side of things rather than content – but who am I kidding? I’m still going to buy extra copies if I want the product, I’d be crazy not to.
So who else has purchased this months glossies to get their hands on these goodies?
I’m planning to buy another copy of Glamour! It’s about 20 quid for a set of 3 travel sizes, so it’s a bargain!
I also bought Tatler, which is a terrible magazine, for free sunglasses. (And there’s a free vest with Elle…)
I’m feeling less bad about Glamour now. Everyone seems to be buying multiple (imagine their spike in sales this month!). I was tempted by Tatler and Elle but I have so many of both freebies and I just couldn’t bring myself to buy them haha.
Got Marie Carie for Bon Bon nail varnish, such a pretty colour! Planning to get Glamour but I’ve been ordered to only get one so I’m deciding which one now.
But they’re only £2 haha. From my experience, I know that I’ll personally use the Porefessional more because I use it almost everyday. I want to get the other Ciaté colours now. I feel a bit bad for wasting so much paper =s
Take the to your local doctor or hospital! I drop mine at local cafes to share.

Ahhh I want all of these! Especially the Glamour magazines, I want to try Benefit’s Porefessional.

After my failed attempt to get some Benefit goodies yesterday ( in Eason’s- kind of like Whsmith ) because the copies haven’t arrived yet – Jennifer Lopez was still smiling at me on the cover rather annoyingly may I add
. So I went home really depressed. Decided to try my local newsagent this morning and hey presto I’m the happiest girl on the planet. I got 2 Porefessional minimiser and 1 Bad Gal Lash mascara. Greedy? Very 
haha but it doesn’t end there as I’m going back for 1 more Porefessional. My beauty addiction is never going to end. Sigh 
hehehe I’m waiting to see if there are more Marie Claires with the other Ciaté polishes. My fiancé actually saw the positive side to it which was super awesome! BEAUTY ADDICTION AHOY!
I got 3 Glamours (2 POREfessionals and a That Gal), 1 Instyle (for the eyeliner like you) and 1 Marie Claire (got the Bon Bon colour) such good freebies I didn’t care how crazy the lady serving me thought I was! And my husband saw the good side of it too… in fact I think his words were ‘you are a thrifty one aren’t you…’ don’t you love understanding partners?!
Love it! Mine was a bit skeptical when he first saw the pile of duplicate magazines but when I told him what it all meant he was confused but impressed haha. I might get more cheeky POREfessionals too. It’s such good value for money!

I donate the other copies to friends, or my mums appreciative of them
I like the idea though of donating to Dr’s and dentists as I can see these going down well. I also got the Ciaté and the POREfessional and That Gal. I resisted the mascara as I tend to only used waterproofs. Great freebies this month but I must say Glamour always comes up trumps with their freebies!

I must admit, I will now be gathering my magazines and giving them to my GP, Dentist and maybe even hair salons in the future.
I do wonder how the magazines are going to top this month.
