About a week or so ago I reviewed the Cotton Candy Lip Butter from Revlon. In that post I mentioned that I really wanted the Peach Parfait and if you saw my lipstick haul you’ll know that I gave in to temptation – naughty, naughty temptation! If you missed that post, want to see what I thought of Peach Parfait or haven’t heard much about the lip butters keep on reading!
I’ll start from the top. The lip butters come in beautiful, quilted cases. Each shade comes in a translucent colour that matches the shade of the lip butter so with this it’s a muted peach come orange. It has a little peephole in the top so you can actually see the real product (a nice little touch) and it has a thin black base meaning you get a lot of silver bullet for your money. It is very feminine and pretty but I have issues with it. I can’t seem to open it like a lady – there’s just not enough to grip on the bottom so I fumble about a bit. I’m not the only one that struggles with this as I have seen some vlogs where others have proven this issue. Otherwise it is stunning.
With a name like Lip Butter you can imagine exactly how it’s going to feel. The solid lipstick melts onto the lips and glides over the skin. This formulation means that it is really hydrating and moisturising and a great cross section of lip balm and lip stick. It doesn’t feel greasy at all and considering the high gloss finish and the amount of hydration you get it’s surprising.
Once again, this is one of the subtler colours in the line. It’s a beautiful rosy orange with gold shimmer running through it. It’s really sheer but you can definitely build up noticeable colour without it feeling heavy on the lip. Just like the Cotton Candy it adds a tint to your natural lip colour rather than a colour blast but it’s a lovely shade. I definitely think it’s a must have for SS12 as it has a great but wearable orange tint that will be/is on trend.
It has pretty good staying power too. I‘ve worn it a couple of times including wearing it for a good three hours including having dinner an hour in before I had to reapply.
I actually love these lip butters. I think the colours are wonderful, the hydration is amazing and they are perfect for the summer. The Peach Parfait is a colour that I wouldn’t have bought previously but with the whole orange thing this year and the fact the Emma Stone is wearing it in the commercial and we having similar colouring/I have a massive girl crush on her, I gave it a go and I’m so glad I did. I cannot recommend these products enough. I have some Maybelline equivalents to try but for now I’m all about the Revlon.

I love the look of this one as I am really liking corals and oranges for lips this season. This is definitely on my ‘to buy’ list! X
