After months of TV shows and sponsored ads, Sports Relief is finally here. If you haven’t already tuned in, you can watch it right now. But if you’re stuck at work or you’re looking at this over the weekend then you can still do your part.
Sports Relief aims to bring the entire nation together to change people’s lives. The money raised is spent by Comic Relief meaning that the money will help many people in the UK and all over the world that are living incredibly tough lives whether it be through loss and bereavement, people living through domestic and sexual abuse, people living in urban slums and many other circumstances.
We, as a nation, were encouraged to take part in a 1, 3 or 6 mile run with people in our community. Each person taking on the run would pay £6 (£3 for children) that will go towards the great cause.
This week my niece and nephew (7 and 5) did sponsored events to raise money for Sports Relief and each of them proudly raised a decent sum of money to go towards the charity.
I, however, have not signed up for the run. But I wanted to do my tiny part by donating some money towards the cause and hopefully drive some people towards the donation page with this post.
Please make a donation and help make a difference in someone’s life.
